Darci Lynne Farmer, 12, wins America’s Got Talent 2017

Kechi Okwuchi clinches 6th position

Winner of America's Got Talent, 2017 edition, Darci Lynne Farmer

On the grand finale of America’s Got Talent, it came down to the two youngest competitors, 10-year-old singer Angelica Hale and 12-year-old ventriloquist Darci Lynne Farmer. But in the end, there could only be one winner and America chose Darci Lynne.

Darci Lynne had been a strong contender throughout the competition and during the finale, she got to meet Jeff Dunham, one of the best ventriloquists in the world. And she got to perform with season two winner, Terry Fator.

Darci Lynne was overwhelmed with emotion during the final moments of the competition. She has said that ventriloquism was a way for her to overcome her shyness saying, “I was very, very shy. But America’s Got Talent has given me a voice and more confidence than I could ever have.”

Winning a million dollars and a show in Las Vegas, the talented Darci Lynne seems to have a bright future. Looks like Terry Fator and the older ventriloquist set might have to start keeping up with the new competition.

Nigerian-born Sosoliso Plane Crash Survivor, Kechi Okwuchi has congratulated the winner Darci Lynne.  She expressed in her post that she deserved the win: “The @AGT finale results were expected and WELL deserved. @ItsDarciLynne congratulations!! What a journey this has been #AGTFinal.”
