Do I need voice control?+
No. Essentials works via smartphone app and physical switches. Voice control is included in Pro (Alexa/Google/HomeKit) and Ultimate (advanced voice) tiers for added convenience.
What security features are included?+
Essentials covers entry points (doors + 1 camera). Pro adds ground-floor perimeter security (windows + outdoor cameras). Ultimate provides complete coverage including video doorbell and leak detection.
Can I upgrade from one tier to another later?+
Yes. We've designed modular upgrade paths. For example, Essentials → Pro costs approximately ₦1,404,100 in additional hardware, and you keep all existing devices.
Do cameras require subscriptions?+
No. All cameras include local storage (microSD). Cloud storage is optional but not required for core functionality.
How long does installation take?+
DIY: Essentials (8-12 hours), Pro (16-20 hours), Ultimate (24-32 hours). Professional: Essentials (4-6 hours), Pro (1 day), Ultimate (1-2 days).
What happens during a power cut or NEPA outage?+
The system is designed around this. Physical switches continue to work normally. Automations based on local rules keep running. Cameras and sensors stay live on UPS backup. Only remote app access and voice control require internet - everything else holds.
What about power surges when NEPA is restored?+
Every Sentinel installation includes surge protection as standard. When NEPA is restored after an outage, the voltage spike that comes with it can destroy expensive appliances instantly. Smart breakers detect dangerous voltage levels and cut power before your AC, refrigerator, or other devices take the hit.
What if my internet goes down?+
Core functions keep running without internet: physical switches work, sensors detect, and automations based on local rules continue. The hub processes locally, so your home doesn't go offline just because your broadband does. Remote app access and voice control do require internet.
