Sentinel is a smart home and building technology company operating in Lagos and Abuja, Nigeria. We install and manage energy monitoring, security, and automation systems for homes and businesses. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and how we protect it - in accordance with the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) 2023.

2. Data we collect

We collect personal data only when you actively provide it to us:

• Consultation requests - name, email address, phone number, property type, and any details you share about your space.
• Newsletter sign-ups - email address only.
• Partnership applications - company name, business type, address, contact details, and information about your business.

We do not collect data passively through tracking pixels or third-party advertising networks. Standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) may be retained briefly for security and diagnostic purposes.

3. How we use your data

• To respond to consultation and enquiry requests
• To send newsletters and product updates to subscribers who have opted in
• To process and evaluate partnership applications
• To fulfil our managed service obligations to clients

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Data retention

Consultation and enquiry data is retained for as long as is necessary to respond to your request and maintain a reasonable business record. Newsletter subscribers may unsubscribe at any time. Partnership application data is retained for the duration of any active relationship and a reasonable period thereafter. You may request deletion at any time (see Section 6).

5. Security

Your data is stored securely and accessible only to authorised Sentinel personnel. We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit and at rest. We do not store payment card information on our systems.

6. Your rights

Under the NDPA 2023, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Withdraw consent for marketing communications at any time
• Lodge a complaint with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC)
